It's me Svetlana.
In this blog post I would like to touch on several things that are very characteristic for Russian and Ukraining women in the way they understand and practice everyday beauty. As I still identify with them quite a bit (and probably always will), I will use "we" while talking about them.
This is how we are.
1. We LOVE to dress up, even to go to a grocery store across the street.
2. We believe that women MUST stay in good physical shape. There is no alternative.
2. We LOVE to follow fashion, whatever it is: clothing, music, body image, professional attitude, dieting, exercising, whatever is new and hot, they would try it all.
2.We LOVE to look seductive.
3. We are well educated and LOVE to be professional. In order to land a great job, a woman in Russia or Ukraine MUST look great, be sophisticated, graceful, intellectual, fashionable, and approachable.
4. We LOVE to follow the West (in good and in bad, but especially about the importance of the body image)—this is a paradox. We take the best from the West and keep developing it even if the West forgets about it. Example: aerobics.
5. We LOVE new information about health and beauty, new health practices and experimenting with our bodies (new exercise ideas, new diets, new cosmetics, new meditation techniques, etc).
6.We LOVE natural healing, medicinal herbs, meditation, and alternative medicine.
7. Everyday we strive to look our PERFECT. We can not leave the house without a makeup or a hairdo. Everyday we look like we are ready for the red carpet (just in case an opportunity arises! LOL).
